Itinerary
Shore excursion from La Spezia to Portofino. Meet your driver at the cruise terminal and drive to Camogli. This is an ancient fishing village that was built on a small island about 1,000 years ago and was later connected to the ground to increase living space. Enjoy a lovely self-guided stroll along the footpath next to the Palazzata, a row of tall, long buildings on the seafront.
Then moved to Portofino, considered the pearl of the Italian Riviera, the name comes from Portus Delphini (Delphin Port), the location is ideal for a commercial port, fishing industry and the security of its inhabitants. Start exploring Portofino on your own and soak up the atmosphere of the main square, explore the fashionable boutiques or stroll to the Church of San Giorgio.
The third gem of the area is Santa Margherita, slightly larger than Portofino and offering great lunches and shopping. The Church of St. Margaret of Antioch is an absolute must-see. It was built in the 16th century in the Baroque style and decorated with precious marble and stucco works.
At lunch, all these villages offer very interesting opportunities to taste local specialties. Trust your driver-guide to choose the location that best suits your needs.
